I’m not really even sure what this website is, however i thought the artwork was brilliant and the interaction that you can do with it is quite impressive.

Accademia Gallery

Obviously, the gallery that holds Michelangelo’s famous sculpture, “David”. A huge entrance fee is required after a long wait in the que, and is it worth it? The whole gallery wasn’t all that great, however, the climax - seeing David wasnt all that great either. There is a replica of the statue in one of the piazza’s in the town, so i would recommend just seeing that - it’s exactly the same, maybe a bit dirtier, but just as good and saves some money!

Banksy

Banksy vs Bristol Museum. In this, Banksy remixed the museums own collection with his own. People who would never normally go an art exhibtion went to this event. It was brilliant. The main focus was a big room with loads of silly artwork such as the house of commons filled with apes. Simple, obvious ideas executed excellently. The work is humorous and inventive. A funny image of 2 badly drawn stick men with one of them asking “Does anyone actually take this art seriously?”

Banksy is the master of suprise and juxtaposition.

The Arena - Verona

I visited Verona not knowing anything about the city, and discovered a huge roman amphiheatre in the centre of the town. It is very much like the Colloseum in Rome, however, this is still used as a site for things other than just tourists visiting. Turns out that it is infact a gig venue. While i was in the city ‘Antonello Venditi’ was playing at the Arena and we decided to go to it. It was infact a spectacular show and i was amazed at how this roman building could survive the vibrations and such from the music and thousands of people crammed inside. Very impressive architecture.

Alice

I know this hasnt been released yet, but after seeing the trailer and a few stills from the film, you can tell its going to be brilliant. Another Tim Burton masterpiece waiting to be unleashed on the world.

Inglourius Basterds

This film is sprawling, flawed and hugely self-indulgent. But none of that matters as it's also hugely enjoyable. Tarantino likes action, but more than anything he likes seeing actors delivering the dialogue he writes for them, clearly shown in this film. A tense, punchy and darkly funny film.

The Royal Mint

When this new design was first released i was not aware that it was like a small puzzle.
I was browsing the D&AD website and discovered that this new design had infact won a Black Pencil Award and when put together in the right order, to coins actually make the royal coat of arms representing England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland with the pound coin as the model to create the puzzle.

Obviously, there had to be some sort of mistake along the pipeline when creating these new coins. It turned out that a large batch of the 20 pence pieces were made without the year they were produced. If you were able to find one of these then they would have been bought for £50 by a certain company.
So if you find one, you know what to do with it!
